Antigua 5 Star Resort

"The perfect mixture of living with the natural environment and living in luxury"

The intimate, privately-owned Hermitage Bay is comprised of just 25 luxury cottages so that "even at its busiest, the place seems remote and quaint." Whether visiting for the first time or returning as a friend, you'll enjoy a sort of members-only exclusivity and "sensation of belonging" as if the hotel was built for a select few. Tucked into a beautiful bay in one of the most secluded corners of Antigua, it is perfect for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Spanning 16 acres of lush tropical gardens, our eco-chic, luxury hotel provides all the comforts of a 5 star resort without compromising the natural habitat that thrives around it. Our open-air facilities, extensive beach and detatched rooms allow you to unwind in isolated luxury. Each of the 8 beachfront cottages features a spacious split level lounge and patio, while the large wrap-around decks and private plunge pools of the 17 hillside pool suites afford the added luxury of soaking up the Caribbean sun from the privacy of your own sun bathing deck.

Whether enjoying lunch by the pool, dining in the beachfront restaurant, or having breakfast in bed, every meal feels privately catered. The menus change daily and feature freshly squeezed local juices, locally grown produce, and organic ingredients. At Hermitage Bay, entrées are prepared to order, special requests are encouraged, and the kitchen is always open

Beachside

"A beachcomber's delight"

The beach at Hermitage Bay spans one of the most beautiful, protected coves in Antigua. Extending for some 1,250 feet, the plentiful sand varies in texture from powder-white to smooth, colourful seashells. A coral reef thrives immediately in front of the property, providing a natural wave barrier and convenient snorkelling. On either side, the calm, crystal clear waters of the bay are ideal for swimming.

Once a year, Antigua’s Environmental Awareness Group hosts a workshop for hotels – like Hermitage Bay – with turtle nesting beaches. With an aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the endangered sea turtles that populate Antigua and Barbuda, our key hotel staff and interested visitors are provided with an introduction to sea turtle ecology, best practice guidelines for sea turtle encounters, and tips for maintaining nesting beaches. While the subdued lighting used throughout the resort allows for incredible stargazing, it is also an example of an environmentally conscious decision made to accommodate the marine life that inhabits the bay.

Water Sports

Some of the most enticing activities at Hermitage Bay are provided courtesy of the Waters Sports Department. In keeping with the serene atmosphere, only non-motorized sports are available, including snorkelling equipment, windsurfing, hobie kats, sunfish and kayaks. Introductory instruction is available, however the calm waters of the protected bay are so inviting that beginners often find themselves gliding across the water in kayaks or coasting on a hobie kat, learning as they go.
